Some #android IRC channel and RyeBrye members were able to re-enable some commented-out code in the phone's touchscreen driver and activate its multitouch capability. While HTC has released previously released its Diamond with hidden multitouch, this one is more intriguing in that it is possible the flourishing dev community and open software might develop some app for this capability.
